Welcome to Dim Sum Basket

3120 Balfour Rd Suite C, Brentwood, CA 94513, United States

General Info

Tucked away at 3120 Balfour Rd Suite C in Brentwood, California, Dim Sum Basket offers a relaxed spot for anyone craving authentic, comforting bites. From the moment you step into the restaurant, the casual atmosphere makes it easy to settle in, whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or sitting down for a full dinner. With a free parking lot and convenient onsite services, getting in and out is effortless, which adds to the overall smooth dining experience.

What really stands out here is the menu. It’s thoughtfully put together, focusing on classic dim sum favorites while still offering enough variety to keep things interesting. The Shu Mai Pork Dumpling is a must-try-juicy, flavorful, and served in a portion that feels just right. Alongside it, the shrimp dumplings bring a delicate balance of texture and taste, with a soft wrapper and fresh filling that doesn’t feel overly heavy.

Another highlight that caught my attention was the lotus leaf wrapped rice. It arrives warm and fragrant, and once unwrapped, the aroma alone makes it worth ordering. The rice is rich without being overwhelming, making it a satisfying option if you're looking for something more filling. Pairing these dishes with a refreshing iced tea ties everything together nicely, especially during a relaxed dinner visit.

For something a bit different, the Matcha Lava Bun adds a modern twist to the experience. When you break it open, the smooth matcha filling flows out, creating a fun and memorable moment. It’s slightly sweet but still balanced, making it a great choice even if you’re not usually into desserts. On the more traditional side, the egg tart and pineapple bun bring a comforting finish to the meal. Both are light, slightly crisp on the outside, and soft inside-simple but done well.

Based on reviews and personal impressions, Dim Sum Basket delivers a consistent dining experience that feels both approachable and satisfying. The restaurant doesn’t try to overcomplicate things, and that’s part of its charm. Instead, it focuses on serving well-prepared dishes in a welcoming environment. Whether you’re exploring the menu for the first time or returning for your favorites, the location offers a dependable spot for casual dining in Brentwood.

What customers say?

“ This was my favorite dim sum that I have ever had. The breads and pastries as well as the fillings were high quality. I tried ten different items off the menu and enjoyed each one. The only downside is no seating, so you do have to stand and wait for the order. It's worth it though. ”

“ Best dim sum in the East Bay. Tasty buns with generous filling. Don’t miss the BBQ buns & sesame balls. Weekend exclusive: taro pineapple bun, a must try. ”

“ this place does not have any table or chairs to sit and eat - it’s take out only. came here around noon on a saturday. it had steady foot traffic, but organized and quick for most. we waited about 15 minutes for pineapple buns, which was fine bc they were so fresh and delicious. i don’t remember everything we got but we got a lot of items for a good price, and all of it was good. will be returning! ”

“ It was GREAT! The buns were especially fluffy, pretty and the matcha lava bun was exceptionally runny and flavorful. The sticky rice lotus leaf wrap was also a delightful experience. Not to mention, the Hong Kong style milk tea was amazing. I would definitely go back! ”

“ So glad that Dim Sum Basket opens. Usually we go to the city on weekend just to get Dim Sum. Now we can have dim sum anytime we want except on Mondays since they’re closed. Please come early if you want to try variety of the menu. One of my favorites is the egg tart They also have pineapple custard bun but only on weekend (Sat & Sun). ”

“ I was so excited to see this place finally open! I dropped by this spot on their 1st day of opening. Sadly, I was a bit too late because everything was pretty much gone. So, I ended up coming back in the morning today. The owner and employees are all so nice. They are efficient and thorough. I ordered : Milk tea Matcha lava bun Charcoal lava bun Taro lava bun Milk custard bun Shrimp dumpling Shu mai Fried shrimp dumpling Pineapple bun (forgot to take pic because I ate it all up ) Fried egg roll Fried sesame ball Pro: Everything was tasty! Flavors were on point Dough to content ratio was just right Perfect portions Great customer service Con: I am going to end up looking like their dumplings with all the dumplings I’ve eaten in the last couple days. ”

“ Usually when you know a place is the only place of its kind in the area, you expect it to not be as good. But Dim Sum Basket is amazing, even if they're the only dim sum place in the area. Their staff are friendly and efficient, the food is almost always excellent, and it's always fresh made. I highly suggest their pan-fried turnip cake (lobakgo), sticky rice (lomaigai), egg tart (dantat), sesame balls (Jindoi), BBQ pork bun (chasiubao), and pork and shrimp dumpling (siumai)! Pretty good prices and very high quality. (sorry the photos aren't good, took em from my video) ”

“ My fiance and I came here for the first time on Saturday and we will definitely be back. First thing the staff was friendly and welcoming as we entered the store with a hello and smile. We ordered many things to try: fried wonton, pot stickers, pineapple bun, taro bun, fried egg rolls, fried shrimp balls, milk bun, shu mai, chrysanthemum drink, a jar of chili oil, and a house milk tea. Easy process to fill out the sheet and give to staff for what you want to order. The only downside is I wish they had pictures of all the food so you can see what to order. I will definitely be back to get more pot stickers, fried wontons, shu mai, hot dog bun, and chrysanthemum tea. Fried wonton: 10/10 Shu mai: 10/10 Hot dog bun: 15/10 Potsticker: 10/10 Fried egg rolls: 6/10 Milk bun: 6/10 Pineapple bun: 10/10 Taro bun: 8/10 Chrysanthemum tea: 10/10 Milk tea: 7/10 Chili oil: 8/10 ”
